  • Family with children

Wonderful location and friendly helpful staff.Delicious dinner

Good choice of breakfast, was let down by cheap fruit yogurts, cheap jam and poor coffee.

  • Older travelers

The location was perfect with stunning views (you didn't even have to get out of bed for the view!). Breakfast was very good and also the light lunches. Excellent room for just a standard - in fact I checked with the receptionist that it was a standard room.

The fact that yellow water came out of the bath taps!! Water was wasted waiting for it to clear. Our room was outside so could be a little inconvient in really bad weather. A parking permit would have been convenient instead of having to feed the machine with 19 pound coins!!

  • Older travelers

It was close to the town centre and handy for the beaches

  • Single

The hotel was easily accessed from Railway Station. The view from the room was wonderful.

  • Single

Good all-round hotel owned by the excellent St Austell brewery. Hence good wines and ales. Unsurpassable views of beaches and St Ives harbour from its location on a rocky promontory. Very convenient for the railway station. Driving and parking in St Ives is a nightmare during the summer.

Poor acoustic separation between some rooms requires neighbourly behavior. Some rooms are small but this is compensated for by the views and spacious public areas.

  • Older travelers

wonderful location with great views of the sea, very good breakfast in the dining room overlooking the beach.

room a liitle small, and in summer, would be extremely hot in the room!

  • Older travelers

Location was very good and general relaxed feel around the hotel.

Standard room was small particularly the on-suite bathroom was cramped.

  • Older travelers

friendly comfortable haven with welcoming and efficient staff who made our stay pleasant and the need to return pressing. Your flexible attitude to cancellation is helpful to those of us who have busy lives where unexpected demands are likely.

The choice of rooms on internet booking does not exist - they are just allocated we had room 8. For our next stay we will book by phone to your friendly staff as a better sea view would have enhanced the experience

  • Older travelers

    The attentive and friendly staff

The hotels boasts that all rooms have a sea view. However, our room had a very -poor view, looking at an angle towards the harbour. Also, for two of the nights we were overcharged the applicable room rate by £20. On arrival, I suggested that we had paid for a superior room, but we were advised that all Booked.net customers are allocated the poor room !

  • Older travelers

Lovely view from room. Fabulous location. Central for the whole of St Ives. Friendly.

Cooked breakfast finished rather early (it is a holiday hotel). Given that the pool is small it can be dominated by guests sitting on the edge and using it as a foot pool.

  • Older travelers

It was a joy to find such a nice welcome from reception staff all very helpful and polite The room was a big surprise lovely veiws over the harbour light and airy and plenty of room.Would recomend it, just a lovely place to stay .a big thank you to everone j m Jenks

  • Older travelers

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very good. The view of the ocean from our room window would have been great if the window had not been so dirty.

The room we had was very small, and the bathroom fixtures were antiquated. However, those problems would have gone mostly unnoticed if we hadn't been so put off by the dirtiness of the room. The carpeting was stained and dirty. The bathroom floor obviously hadn't been washed before our arrival. The room window was too dirty to consider the otherwise wonderful view much of an advantage. And worst of all, the heating unit was so filthy that we were grateful our stay was during warm enough weather that we didn't need to turn on the heat. We would never have turned on that heater given its condition.

  • Older travelers

The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very compact, sufficient for one or two nights but i would not have found it acceptable for a longer stay. the views however were great. The shower dribbled throughout our stay and the basin leaked water over the floor Breakfast was fine.

The hotel is overpriced for the size of the rooms and the rather dated interior and facilities. On that basis I would recommend it for the views and location but not because of the prices. If the room had cost £100 I would say it was a fair price given the location.

  • Older travelers

The Staff were excellent and the location and room was very good and I would will be going back to Pedn-Olva hotel as soon as possible and would recommend it to anyone.

  • Older travelers

Lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean and breakfast was great. Staff were very polite and helpful. Best of all was the outstanding view from our bedroom window.

Room was a liitle small for a double.
